Tuesday 24th November

Here is an introduction to the learning activities from Miss Gray:

Week beginning 23rd November

This week we are learning about festivals of light - including Diwali

We will be learning about sources of light, making clay divas, rangoli patterns and Diwali cards.

Watch the slide show below to find out all about it.

As we are learning about the festivals of light at this time of year such as Diwali, Hanukkah and Christmas we will be also thinking about what gives out light.

Here is a simple worksheet with items that give out light. Please support your child in writing the words to match the picture. It is not about spelling the whole word correctly at this stage but writing the sounds your child can hear in the order that they hear them e.g. sn for sun or strs for stars.

Remember to correct their grip so that they are pinching the pencil near the bottom, as this will make their control of the pencil and formation much better.

We have also begun a new phonic scheme called "Monster Phonics".

We met all the "monsters" and have recapped some of the letter sounds we have been learning. See if you can "sound out" and read the words below.

Watch the video clip below and see how many words you can see that have the sounds - s    a      t     p

We are continuing to learn about numbers 1 to 5.

Can you recognise these numbers? - see if you can do it without counting

Give your grown up a "High 5" every time you see number 5

Now practise writing numbers 1 2 3 4 5

Here are some of the children's favourite puppets.

Keep scrolling down for a story too!!
