Next week is Half Term so there will be a break from home learning.

All the staff in Reception would like to say a big well done to all the children for continuing to learn at home during this difficult time and say a big thank you to all the parents for being teachers over the 7 weeks of home learning. So now please have a rest and embrace fun, embrace the good weather and embrace each other as a well done for doing so well at home. Take care and please keep checking your school Parent Pay account for more information on when school will be re-opening for Reception children.

Learning for the week of 18th-22nd May

Please see below:

Phonics (18th - 22nd May)

Set up a Tricky word Scavenger Hunt, around your house or in the garden. Tricky words are words that your child needs to learn to help with their reading and writing, but they are words that are hard to sound out, so your child needs to learn to recognise them on sight.

Cut up some squares of paper, write on the words from the list below and "hide" the words so your child can hunt for them.

Phonic Picture Activity

There are four pictures to choose from (see below). Ask your child to write a list of all the words to match the objects they can see. Encourage them to "segment" or sound out each word

eg. b - ar- n           sh - ee- p            j-e-t
